Barcelona Vice President: Mbappe’s Move to Real Madrid Doesn’t Worry Us
Rafa Yuste, the Vice President of FC Barcelona, has denied the club’s interest in signing French forward Kylian Mbappe from Paris Saint-Germain during the ongoing summer transfer window, stating that it’s merely a rumor.
Yuste said in his statements, as reported by “Mundo Deportivo”: “I’m not here to fuel rumors. Anything I say as a Vice President can lead to more speculations.”
He added, “We are not concerned about the possibility of Mbappe moving to Real Madrid. I am only concerned about our team, and what I see is that Xavi is strengthening it.”
“We have a strong team after signing Gundogan, Romero, and En-Nesyri. We are already better than last season,” he continued.
Regarding Xavi’s contract renewal, he commented: “Xavi asked us to prioritize registering players first. He is a man of the club and knows what is most important at the moment. He understands the effort we are making and the financial challenges. We will talk calmly later, but right now, the focus is on the players. We are confident in reaching an agreement.”
As for Ousmane Dembele’s future, Yuste said: “It seems like an ongoing story that repeats every year. Xavi is very fond of Dembele. The contract renewal process is slower than others, but we hope to eventually reach an agreement.”
