ATP Bucharest Best Bets Including Kokkinakis vs Barrere

ATP Bucharest 1/16-Finals

Barrere – Kokkinakis: 17.04.2024 Time TBA
H2H: 1-1

Gregoire Barrere has won three out of his last five matches. He had to fight through the qualification tournament to get into the main draw of ATP Bucharest. He won both qualification rounds in straight sets and showed us that he is ready. Barrere has not had any remarkable results this season so far. He is also outside the top 100. We believe that he could build up some momentum here in Bucharest and get closer to getting back into the top 100. Last year, Barrere had some great wins on the clay courts, such as one against Khachanov.

Thanasi Kokkinakis won last week the challenger title in Sarasota on the clay. As we mentioned in our previous articles, American clay courts are way faster than European ones. He flew all the way from the States to Bucharest. Expect him to be jet-lagged in his first round. Kokkinakis loves to play on the fast courts, and we are not sure how he will adapt to this slow surface in Bucharest. The last match he played on the European clay court was last year at the French Open, where he lost against Khachanov.

Best Bet to Make

Barrere has already won two matches here in Bucharest. We believe that he will be in better shape than Kokkinakis. Even though he is out-of-form, Barrere is a solid clay court player, and we believe that he will win easily tomorrow.

That being said, Barrere to win is a value bet.

Rinderknech – Tabilo: 17.04.2024 Time TBA
H2H: first meeting

Arthur Rinderknech won against Gaston in the first round in Bucharest as we predicted. However, we did not think that he would struggle so much. Rinderknech and Gaston played for almost three hours. Rinderknech was serving well, but he was making way too many unforced errors. It will be interesting to see if he is going to be physically ready for tomorrow. He has an even record on the clay courts this season, 2-2. After winning the challenger title in his home country, Rinderknech did not show much.

Alejandro Tabilo has won two out of his last five matches. He started off this season brilliantly, winning the ATP title in Auckland. After that, Tabilo also played at the ATP Santiago (clay), where he also reached the final. Tabilo is Chilean, so he loves to play on the clay courts. He has a 5-4 winning record on the clay this season so far. The last match he played was against Ruud in Monte Carlo, where he lost in straight sets. Tabilo had a one-week rest, so we expect him to be well rested and ready for Rinderknech.

Best Bet to Make

Alejandro Tabilo is a top 50 player. He is well rested and loves to play on the clay. Rinderknech did not show much in the first round. He also played for almost three hours, so we believe that he will be exhausted.

That being said, Tabilo winning is a value bet.
