Girls Soccer: Brackets Released for State Championships

AURORA – The Colorado High School Activities Association has released the brackets for the Girls Soccer State Championships.

The 16-team 2A tournament and 32-team tournaments for 3A, 4A and 5A will each feature a single-elimination bracket. The first round will begin on Tuesday for 5A, Wednesday for 4A, Thursday for 3A and Friday for 2A. The second round will then follow, except for 2A, which will jump straight to the quarterfinals. Second-round games for 5A will be played on Friday, while 4A and 3A wait for Saturday.

Saturday will also see 2A kickoff its quarterfinals action. On Monday, May 13, 5A will play its quarterfinals games, with 3A and 4A playing its quarterfinals games on Tuesday, May 14.

The higher-seeded team will host every playoff match through the quarterfinals, except for 5A, which will play its quarterfinal games at a neutral site.

Then, the final four teams from each classification will advance to its respective semifinals site. The 5A semifinal games will be played on Wednesday, May 15 at the University of Denver’s CIBER Field. The 3A and 4A semifinals will follow on Thursday, May 16, with 4A playing at the University of Northern Colorado’s Jackson Stadium and 3A playing at the Jeffco North Area Athletic Complex (NAAC). Finally, 2A will play its semifinals on Saturday, May 18.

Following the semifinals, the two remaining teams from each classification will head to Dick’s Sporting Goods Park, for the state championship finals. The 3A and 4A games will be played on Tuesday, May 21, while the 2A and 5A finals will be played on Wednesday, May 22.
