VinFast VF 6 right-hand drive version debuts for the first time

The VinFast VF 6 is a B-segment electric SUV that went on sale just early this month in Vietnam. The EV in right-hand drive avatar is expected to be launched in the Indian market later this year.

At the on-going Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS) Surabaya 2025, Vietnamese automaker VinFast made the first public showcase of its all-new VF 6 compact SUV in right-hand drive avatar. The EV is now officially available in the Indonesian market in two trims, ‘Eco’ and ‘Plus’, priced at 396,995,000 IDR (₹20.80 lakhs) and 451,600,000 IDR (₹23.66 lakhs) respectively.

Although not confirmed officially, the VinFast VF 6 is most likely in the list of cars that the automaker is planning to launch in India starting this year. This is perhaps brand’s latest model to enter customer sales in its home market. With modern, tech-savvy design and spacious interiors, the 4.2 m-long SUV targets urban and young buyers.

A 59.6 kW battery pack powers the Vietnam-spec VF 6. The powerful ‘Plus’ variant offers 150 kW max power and 310 Nm of peak torque, with a driving range of 460 kms on single charge. The mellowed ‘Eco’ variant offers a slightly higher range of 480 kms, albeit with 130 kW and 250 Nm output.

The EV is impressive at first sight, thanks to its delicate body lines and styling details offering a dynamic appearance. Digitized and futuristic dual-tone dashboard with spacious cabin and comfortable seats are worth appreciating. VF 6’s infotainment system is also heralded as one of the best in its class.

Interestingly, VinFast offers a host of service subscription and accessory packages for its buyers. This includes free EV charging at VinFast network stations for about three years. In both Vietnam and Indonesian markets, the company is developing comprehensive green mobility ecosystem.

VinFast’s market strategy essentially integrates home and public charging solutions, smart vehicle management app, and vibrant after-sales services. With the company locally assembling its EV in India, we can expect a similar market approach for the country as well.
