Los Angeles Rams DT Kobie Turner Sings National Anthem At Lakers Game
On Tuesday, Los Angeles Rams defensive tackle Kobie Turner had the chance show off his premier off-field talent in front of a national audience.
Turner sang the national anthem ahead of Tuesday night’s game between the Los Angeles Lakers and Golden State Warriors at Crypto.com Arena, and put on quite the show while doing so.
For Turner, who earned the nickname “The Conductor” in college, music has been a large part of his life from a young age. His mother listened to gospel music, R&B and reggae during his childhood, which left quite the impression on him. In high school, he ran three separate a capella groups while also participating in choir, per a 2022 article by Deacon Daily.
“Being able to go back and play music and use that to pour on my emotions and whatever it may be, and that was kind of my voice,” Turner told theRams.com in July.
A third-round pick out of Wake Forest, Turner immediately became an impact player on the defensive front. He led all rookies with nine sacks last season and finished third in Defensive Rookie of the Year voting, although many would argue he should’ve won the award outright.
Tuesday the second time Turner has sung the national anthem at a sporting event, as he previously sung it at a Los Angeles Kings game in January.
